This academic conference, which will be held for two days from the 30th to the 31st, will be attended by more than 1,500 experts in M&S-related fields from citizens, government, military, industry, academia, and research from 28 countries around the world, giving presentations on the direction of M&S development to leap forward as a cutting-edge science and technology powerhouse. M&S is a scientific technique that models characteristic functions similar to battlefields and predicts and verifies results through simulation experiments conducted in this environment. Scientific Combat Training (KCTC), which has changed the paradigm of brigade-level training, and combat command Training (BCTP), helicopter and tank piloting simulators, etc. are being conducted through M&S.

The opening ceremony began with a speech by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army Ko Hyun-seok, followed by a welcome speech by Daejeon City Deputy Mayor for Economics and Science Seok-bong Lee, a congratulatory speech by Shin Shin-kyo, Vice Director of the Agency for Defense Development, a keynote speech, an international M&S conference, and a panel discussion.

Keynote speeches were delivered by Jinsook Lee, President of Chungnam National University, Stephen Stoddard, Director of the U.S. Army Analysis Center, and Clive Downey, Vice President of Unity.

On the second day, there will be paper presentations by department, a big data analysis contest, and an M&S tutorial (group lecture) with KAIST Professor Jaesik Choi, the best architect in the field of 'explainable artificial intelligence'.

In addition, about 120 research papers will be published in each division of △AI/Big Data △Acquisition/Technology △Policy/Analysis △Education/Training △International Policy/Analysis with participation from personnel from various departments within and outside the military, including the Ministry of National Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Seoul National University.
