The '2023 Bucheon Mold and Mold International Conference' was held today (3rd) at the Grand Volume of Koryo Hotel.
The '2023 Bucheon International Mold Conference', which celebrates its 18th anniversary this year, is an international conference that provides insight into trends and advanced technologies in the global mold industry. It was hosted by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology and co-hosted by the Korea Mold Industry Cooperative, Bucheon Mold Business Cooperative, Korea Mold Engineering Society, Korea Mold Technology Society, and Mold Valley Council.
At the conference on this day, under the theme of 'Innovation plan for future manufacturing in the mold industry for mold intelligence using AI', advanced domestic and foreign experts were invited to discuss new concepts related to AI-related technologies (smart factory application cases, XR technology, mold automation, digitalization) and application cases. Technologies were introduced.
The conference began in earnest with an opening speech by Director Lee Sang-mok of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, congratulatory remarks by Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik, and commemorative speeches by Kim Wol-ryong, Chairman of the Korea Mold Technology Society, Su-jong Park, Chairman of the Bucheon Mold Business Cooperative, and Gwang-yong Park, Chairman of the Mold Valley Council. Also in attendance were National Assembly member Kim Gyeong-hyeop and Party Council Chairman Lee Eum-jae.
First, Gil-Sang Yoon, director of the Korea Mold Technology Center in Bucheon, appeared as the first speaker and gave a presentation on the topic, ‘Korea Mold Technology Center in Bucheon, the center of mold.’ Next, Gun Solution's Manager Ik-Yeol Cho gave presentations on 'Data analysis and collaborative robot-based automation construction in the mold industry' and CEO KAH KHOON GOH gave presentations on 'Strengthening future capabilities in mold design and manufacturing through AI integrated solutions.'
In Part 2, Ha Tae-jin, CEO of Vernect Co., Ltd., introduced 'XR technology and excellent application cases that are confident in the mold industry field', and Stäubli Korea team leader Choi Young-tae introduced 'Environmental improvement solutions for mold automation', followed by KAIST Professor Jaesik Choi's 'Preview'. The topic ‘2024 AI Industry/Technology Trends’ was announced. Lastly, Youngbeom Cho, Deputy Manager of Pick It Korea, concluded the presentation by introducing ‘Digitalization of mold technology through 3D robot vision.’
