KT (030200) announced on the 27th that it has released a research performance report and launched an advisory committee of experts to ensure safe and reliable use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The AI report released this time contains KT's efforts and research results toward AI ethics and reliability. It introduces the 'Responsible AI Framework' stipulated in three aspects: governance, ethics principles, and process. It was developed to establish the foundation for safe and reliable AI services.
The Responsible AI Ethics Principles consist of five core principles, ASTRI: Accountability, Sustainability, Transparency, Reliability, and Inclusivity. The abbreviation is borrowed from the Latin word for 'star' to imply that it serves as a milestone like the North Star.
KT has made this report public on its homepage and is supporting organizations and individuals who are curious about the details or establishment process to view it for reference at any time.
In addition, KT launched the 'Responsible AI Advisory Committee' on the 22nd. The committee is comprised of KT executives, professors from Korea University and KAIST, and experts from AI startup 'Select Star'. They will advance the Responsible AI framework to develop AI solutions that reflect Korean culture and values. The committee
will objectively verify AI models and reflect domestic and international regulations. It will also continue research activities such as writing papers and making academic presentations in close collaboration with the KT in-house committee established last month.
