The Korea Regional Information Development Institute announced on the 20th that it held the 'AI Public Administration Forum' together with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Germany.
This forum was held under the theme of 'AI Public Administration: Korea and Europe' and was designed as a venue to share AI public administration cases in Korea and Europe and discuss development directions.
The event was attended by approximately 40 experts from the public sector, academia, and the private sector, including Stefan Schnorr, Vice Minister of the German Federal Ministry for Digitalization and Transport.
The forum began with an opening speech by Fredric Sphor, the Korean representative of the Naumann Foundation, and a welcoming speech by Kim Seok-jin, Vice President of the Development Institute.
In the final discussion, moderated by Professor Jaesik Choi of KAIST, Director Jung Joo-hwan of Naver Cloud and Counselor Rainer Wessely of the Delegation of the European Union to Korea discussed ways to utilize AI safely and reliably in the public sector.
The discussants raised the need for ethical and social review of technology introduction and shared in-depth opinions on the future direction of development. Meanwhile, the developer and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation jointly host quarterly online seminars on the topic of digital every year, and plan to invite domestic and international digital experts to hold a forum in the second half of the year.
