INEEJI, a startup that provides artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve the efficiency of industrial processes, announced on the 6th that it has begun AI process verification experiments with Chiyoda Steel, a Japanese color steel plate manufacturer.
INEEJI provides technology to improve manufacturing efficiency and cloud-based AI solutions to steel, petrochemical, cement, and power generation companies. In industrial sites where process variables are complex and difficult to precisely predict and control, such as electric furnaces at steel mills, melting furnaces at glass factories, and cement kilns, its strength lies in not simply utilizing manufacturing data, but also reflecting the work methods and know-how of field operators into AI models. In the case of a glass factory, it was difficult to determine the optimal fuel input to maintain the target temperature inside the melting furnace, but AI analysis reduced fuel use and increased productivity. An INEEJI official said, “The sites where our solutions were introduced have proven to improve quality, ensure consistency, and reduce energy costs, and as a result, the number of customers has increased and we have even expanded into Japan.”
INEEJI established a Tokyo branch in April of last year and is collaborating with GS Global Japan, a general trading company of GS Group. It will begin verification experiments with four companies including Chiyoda Steel, a cement manufacturer, and a home appliance manufacturer in the first half of this year. “We will utilize INEEJI’s AI technology to maximize quality improvement and effectively respond to our customers’ environmentally friendly demands,” said Motobu Sakata, President of Chiyoda Steel. INEEJI CEO Jaesik Choi said, “We have been recognized for reducing carbon emissions and energy conservation effects in production processes in various industries,” and “Entering Japan will serve as a bridgehead for developing advanced countries’ markets.”
