Mayor Lee Jang-woo: "Actively Supporting the Cultivation of Science and Technology Powerhouses"

The 17th Army M&S International Academic Conference will be held at the Daejeon Convention Center on the 12th and 13th.

Approximately 1,500 experts in M&S fields from the civilian, government, military, industry, academia, and research will attend the conference and share research results on modeling and simulation technologies for the Army's leap forward as a strong force through approximately 100 presentations and discussions, and suggest future development directions.

The first day of the conference on the 12th began with a grand opening speech by Army Chief of Staff Park An-soo, followed by a welcoming speech by Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo, a congratulatory speech by Agency for Defense Development Deputy Director Shin Jin-kyo, a keynote speech, a panel discussion, and an international M&S conference.

The keynote speeches that day were given by President Lee Seung-chul of Hannam University, Professor Choi Jae-sik of KAIST, and Tony Bastian, Division Director of IBM in the US, followed by a panel discussion on the topic of “Development Direction of Future Defense Industry R&D Policy.”

At the international M&S conference, discussions were held on the topic of “Sharing Advanced Defense M&S Technology and Policy Status” and the direction of expanding the overseas M&S network and establishing a foundation for domestic product defense exports.
