Google Korea announced on the 26th that it held the opening ceremony of the '2025 Digital Responsibility Committee' on the 24th and began discussions on responsible digital innovation and creating a sustainable ecosystem.
The committee was launched in 2024 as part of efforts to foster a responsible digital ecosystem in Korean society, and operates the 'Responsible AI Forum', 'YouTube Open Forum', and 'App Ecosystem Forum', which address key issues in the digital ecosystem, including artificial intelligence (AI), content, and the app/game industry.
This year, the 2nd committee will be attended by 43 experts from various fields such as IT/technology, law, media/content, policy, and consumer protection, and plans to expand cooperation between each forum to continue more in-depth discussions. In addition, a forum will be held in conjunction with various Google Korea initiatives such as YouTube's 'Hold On Campaign' and Google Play's 'Window Program' to seek responsible practice methods suitable for the domestic digital environment. Exchanges with industry officials and policy makers will also be strengthened to support the discussion so that the contents can lead to actual policies and improvements in the industrial environment.
